Class Details

Classes are held at our school in Mayfair in central London each Saturday in March, beginning March 5th. Class sizes are limited to ten people.

Note: March 5th class only has two places remaining. March 12th has four.

Class requirements:

Applicants will need to email to a sample of writing to be worked on in the class, preferably a scene of dialogue between a main character and one or more interlocutors. (However, it will be possible to work using different types of text.)

The excerpt should be between 1,500 and 2,000 words in length, and preferably accompanied by a 200 word synopsis of the work/projected work from which it comes.

Class schedule:

10:00 Greeting from founder Thomas W. Hodgkinson.

10.15 General introduction to ‘The Method’ by Thomas and co-founder Alexander Fiske-Harrison, incorporating Stanislaviski’s motivation, Adler on script analysis, beat and action, scene study from film.

End with distribution of scenes for study from contemporary film and theatre.

13:30 Lunch during which students will work on their own manuscripts, which will include notes from Thomas and Alexander, applying what they have learned so far.
